Topic: 1941 Ford Pickup Hood Latch/Sorings

Trying to put back together the Hood release mechanism on my 1941 Ford Pickup. I would like to see some pictures of how/where the springs attach. I seem to be having trouble with the brace that goes from the release brace to the hood being in the way. Again pictures would surely help.

FYI there are two latch systems for 41 pick ups, one for V8 and 4 cyl and one for 6 cylinder, yes 6 cylinder because of the army/government requirement

According to the '40-'41 pickup book from the V-8 Club in the later part of '41 all the pickups used the 6 cylinder style hood.
If your latch mechanism is the same as the '40 standard passenger car then you have the earlier hood style. If your latch mechanism is the triangular plate style at the very front of the hood then you have the later style latch. If you don't have the V-8 Club's '40-41 pickup book then you should have it. Lots of great information there for $10.

I have the Clubs book on 1940 & 1941 Ford Pickups. I have the hood shown in figure 31, the V8 hood. I still need pictures of a '41 hood latch so I can see how the springs are attached. The Book does not show where the springs are attached!

Difference between 1/2 tn and 3/4 tn hoods? I have two original 3/4 tn's could show pics of all parts.
