  Hello,
Looking for drawings or pics of the hi beam lite assembly for 40,41 3/4 ton pickup. I have some pieces, not all.
Big thanks ahead of time.

As I recall it should be the same as '40 passenger car. Most of the V-8 parts vendors carry the parts.

I posted a link to the sales brochure that has an artist representation of the head light in the General Ford Discussion. Here is a link to a photo of a truck for sale.

The piece/part I am looking for pics of is the dash lite assembly that illuminates the hi beam indicator as mounted above the instrument panel. It is a lite socket that latches onto the little red indicator, and so far either have too many parts and pieces or some of the wrong parts and pieces. I know there is an aftermarket replacement available. I simply prefer using the original pieces if at all possible. This truck is nearly complete now, after 11 yrs. I found a small parts listing in the "green book", but no pics.

Do your parts look like these in the Drake catalog? if not can you attach a photo of what you have along with the P/Ns so we can help you?

This is where the Hi beam goes.
So far 11 yrs on this resto. Used 2 very old trucks to begin with. Both in severe bad shape.

It looks like you have all of the parts except the shield. The Chassis Parts Catalogs for 1939, 1940 and 1942 do not have a drawing of the parts, so I don't know what the shield looks like. The Green Book says the parts for 1940-1947 are the same P/N, so maybe someone that has one of those years will have a better idea of what you need.

Tom, the assembly is assembled and in place. The shield is the 2nd from lft, then spring that fits inside it, then the 4 legged plate that sits on spring, then the "cover plate. Compress all this into the shield, (can) and fold those tabs over, (the canister tabs). now the can has 4 sprring loaded tabs sticking out. Instrument panel of course needs to be out. Press this spring loaded canister against back of dash and fanagle the hi beam piece at hole in dash and slipping it into slot in the cover plate and Bob's your uncle, or words to that effect.

Very interesting. That assembly is totally different than the passenger car except for the red jewel. I learn something every day about these old Fords.

I am glad that you figured it out. I thought that the shield was part of the socket. I cannot think of a more complicated way to attach the bulb and jewel. Are you sure this wasn't designed by Frankenstein?

Pretty sure it was designed by Frankenstein.
