Did Ford make chrome bumpers a factory option on any of their F-1 series pickups or were F-1 truck bumpers always painted black? Are chrome bumpers strictly an aftermarket part?

Glenn, I have never seen an original F-1 that came with anything but the black bumpers (Front and Back). I got my 1951 F-1 from the original owner who drove it in his business thru 1995 and it was still the way that Henry made it except rebuilt V8. Several people have had their bumpers chromed during restoration process.Don

I agree that the F-1 did not come with chrome bumpers. All those I have seen, including some nice originals, had the black bumpers. I suspect that they did not chrome bumpers during that time period due to the Korean War.
