can you please tell me if the headlight switch for a 1949 mercury is the same as that used in the 1949 ford? the car i have came missing the headlight switch completely and i can get a used one from a 1949 ford. will that work or do i need one from a merc.? would apprciate any advice. thank you This message was edited by janman33 on 1-20-10 @ 11:24 AM

I suspect they will not interchange. I'd consult a parts place before you buy the Ford part. Classic Mercury Parts is www.classicmercury.com Mercury Land is www.mercuryland.com The Merc Shop doesn't show a web site, but does specialize in 49-51 cars. Their phone is 732/718-4653
