Hi All, I thought you might enjoy seeing my Merc. It was built in Los Angeles, serial # 51LA10134M. I purchased it from the original owner in Hialeah FL in 1960. Price: $250, Mileage:84,500. The only external modification are the Barris-like duals through the bumper, like the Fred Lowe Merc. This was done by the original owner in CA. The only other modification that I made was to relocate the hydraulic pump to the righthand inner fender and replace the original with a GM Delco Moraine pump. This was done in '61. My Merc is stick with overdrive. The car now has 350,000 miles on it and made 3 round trips from PA to CA. Also numerous trips from PA to Miami when I was going to school at the U. I restored it in 2006. I became attached! Thanks, Pete

Pete, if you could see yourself becoming unattached to that Merc at some future date, I don't think you'd have a problem getting rid of it! Alan

I like the rear bumper treatment. It adds more class to a classy car. You have every reason to be proud of your car. I am sure that it would enjoy a nice ride to Branson, MO in August for the Central National Meet. Tom

Pete We have almost identical cars ...mine is Vassar yellow but with a black top and the original burgundy red interior. I like the exaust pipe treatment on your car ...neat. Also, I took note of your relocating the top pump to the right fender well...its a bear to work on where its located in mine on the drivers side. The GM pump is not familiar with ...can you supply a model number ? Tracker
