I found this emblem on the front fenders of a junked out 51 Mercury. I dont recall ever seeing it. I would like to know if it is a factory emblem. It is made out of pot metal and appears to have been painted a gold color. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I believe that item is off a 51 Lincoln...a lot of Merc owners at the time were trying to copy the Lincoln look by adding this trim to the top of the front fender spear. However, it is not an exact copy of what I have on my 51 Lincoln but very close. Mine is all silver with no gold accent. Tracker

It is an early 51 Lincoln emblem that was mounted on the top end of the front fender spear.
