Am told the pulleys are wider for the Merc.?...thanks...Peder

  Peder,

The body parts manual shows 2 seals for the floorboard.

P/N 19A-7001731-B fits around the steering tube and shifter. I do not think that it is being reproduced. You may have to use the Ford part. Its P/N is 11A-7001731-B

P/N 11A-7011744-A is a 46.64" long strip of foam rubber that goes along the front edge of the floorboard. This part is the same for Ford and Mercury.

The Ford and Mercury both used the same water pumps in 1946. The engines are identical in all respects. Your engine should have 59A cast into the bell housing and the distributor mounted on the front of the timing gear cover.

There are floorboard seal kits for your car, but we use the common "closed cell" adhesive weatherstripping made for building doors, etc. It comes in rolls, and you just cut the strips to the needed size. When in place, it can't be seen, and costs a lot less than the kits.
