Topic: 1947 Mercury 2 door sedan

We have a 1947 Mercury 2 door sedan bought by my wife's grandfather new in 1947. We are in the process of restoring it. the car is all original but was painted and vinyl interior put over original which was green. Color of car was glade green. What color would the interior have been. It looks like a light green and dash is tan. Need the color names or codes for the interior green and dash tan.
Any help would be appreciated. This is a complete off body restoration. We are fortunate that nothing was changed on the car other than paint and interior.

Thanks for any help

I suggest that you contact Rusty Davis, the Early Ford V-8 Club's1942-1948 Mercury Advisor.

Most suppliers of after market paint did not include the formulas for interior colors. I hope that you have not removed all tracers of the original dash and window trim colors because they would be a good source to color match the paint to restore them.

Thanks for the help. There are some traces of the original interior paint. We were hoping not to need to do a color match but find original colors. I will contact the person you suggested.

A good automotive paint store can easily match your dash color. Take the glove box door with you as the interior paint on the door will not be faded. Also take a garnish molding for the green.
