My ‘41 was equipped new with the optional AM radio. Until today, I hadn’t turned it on at all. To my surprise, about 15 or 30 seconds after I turned it on and the radio warmed up, I started to hear static so I turned the dial on the right side and after a little fiddling, I got a radio station that I’m familiar with! Pardon my ignorance, but here’s my question… what is the selector knob in the center of the radio for? Thanks!

I believe that it for the 5 preset stations. To preset a station, push the knob to turn to one of the preset options. Using the manual tuning knob, tune to a station. Pull up on the knob and then push it down. The station that you tuned to should now be available when you push the button to select. Tom

By turning the middle knob to "D" you can manually tune the stations with the right knob. The 1-5 numbers are pre set stations. Some of the suppliers sell copies of the radio instruction manual. Make sure you buy the manual for the "Roto" radio and not the Sparton.

Could you please give me the measurements of the power lead from the radio to the circuit breaker panel and how it connects. Does have a power lead and a ground lead?

Sql1954... thanks for the info on the manual - I'd love to get one! Now I know what to look for. I'll see if I can't get a picture / measurement for the power lead for you tonight when I get home. Sorry for the delay in responding! C.

Could you help me with an answer to a question? I am trying to find out the length and demensions of the power lead to the radio. Mine is a power lead wrapped with a woven ground wire over it. It also has an inline fuse. I know where the hot lead hocks up to. I just need to know: (a) length of wire from radio to fuse holder (b) length of wire from fuse holder to circuit breaker (c) where does the woven ground wire exit the power lead (d) how long is the ground wire after it exits the power lead (e) where does the ground wire ground to. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
