Topic: Mysterious Mercury dash lights?

What are the two red jewels (20-30mph & 70-80mph) on my 1948 Mercury 114x dash gauge. I am reassembling the dash after a long spell and have forgotten?
Separate gauge cluster (not pictured) comprises amps, temp, fuel & oil pressure.
Is the high beam at the bottom of the gauge? (in between 0-100mph)

I am looking at the interaction sheet for adding the Ford/Mercury turn signal kit on. Without turn signals one jewel was the high beam indicator. When adding turn signal kit the two jewels were used for the turn signal indicators and then they drilled another hole above the instrument cluster to add a high beam indicator jewel. This was only done on the Mercurys.
