my intention is to replace the stock v8 that is in my stock 48 ford coupe with a rebuilt 53 mercury engine. all I have so far is the adapter to mate the block to the trans. housing, but, I want to replace with new flywheel, clutch, & pressure plate. what I don't know is, what year do I want for the flywheel, clutch, & pressure plate, in order to maintain useing the existing transmission drive train. You might be more successful posting your question on the Ford Barn forum. There is a lot more discussion about modifications such as the one you are planning.
