Topic: 1948 Mercury Convertible

I was having trouble with my top returning to the "top up" position, I finally was able to secure it up only to find that my problem was a bent rail/flat lever
I need a diagram of the convertible top frame to identify the part number if possible or the name of the rail, the rail is bent approximately 5eithts. It is the drivers side rail/lever over the rear window.

Here is the only drawing of the top irons in the 1946 Body Parts Catalog.

Tom I really appreciate your help the diagram helped so much. Now my next question can I buy any of these parts from a vendor or individual. I need part number 7650340 right and left sides.

I do not know any source for those parts. They are the same for both Ford and Mercury.

Can your parts be straightened and refurbished?

Yes I believe they can, just have to find a good fabricator.
