I am tryin to restore a barn find convertible. One of the questions I have is putting turn signals in my existing park lights. If I convert the existing socket to dual element 1157 bulb, the bulb sticks out so far the lens will not fit.

any thoughts

You can use small globe double contact 6 Volt bulbs. I installed hidden turn signals on a 1940 Ford Deluxe using them. At the time, these small globe bulbs were available from MAC's under part number V13465HR6. These are sometime referred to as "Hot Rod" bulbs. You may be able to find these bulbs from a source on the internet.

You should have 2" from the base of the socket to the lens and a 1154 bulb should fit. If you have less than the 2", you can use LED bulbs from this supplier: https://www.ledlight.com/g18-s25-2_6-watt-1157-6-volt-ac-non-polarity.aspx

The LED bulbs are 1 1/2" long.

The 1157 is a 12V bulb
