Does anyone know of a replacement seal that is manufactured for the rear quarter windows of the 1940 Mercury 4 door sedan? Mine are intact but hard as a rock! I’d even settle for a seal that is from a different year/make, as long as it fits. What’s compatible? Is there a company out there that can take the old ones and remake new ones? Any help with this will be greatly appreciated!

Hi Mr Merc, I have a '40 Ford Fordor w/o pivoting 1/4 windows. Mac's (Eckler's) had all the seals, except the ones you're looking for. If my memory serves me correctly,(and it may not at my age), I think I bought seals for a coupe's 1/4 windows, then cut them to the correct length. Place the seam at the top; only you will know it's there. Barney

If the seals for a 1940 Ford Fordor will work, Carpenter has them. https://www.dennis-carpenter.com/cars/weather-stripping/quarter/81a-7329904-pr-4dr-14-window-seals-flip-out

One owner said that the 40 Ford seal fit his 40 Mercury. They have different P/Ns, so there is some difference. https://www.earlyfordv8.org/forum/viewmessages.cfm?Forum=16&Topic=7038&keywords=seal Tom
