Could someone fill me in on how to identify 1939 vs. 1949 Mercury rear fenders? Thanks much!

The 1939 rear fenders have a smaller wheel opening than the 1940 rear fenders. The 40 has an oblong, vertical opening for the taillight bucket and the 39 has a smaller opening. Tom
