Metro Moulded Rubber used to sell them. You can give them a call to see if they still have some old stock left. They do not show any 1939 or 1940 parts on their website.

Hunley Acuff did my running boards, but I understand that he has retired. His website is for sale.

There is a guy in Canada that reproduces covers. I did not see covers for 39-40 Mercury, but here is his contact info.

Metro had them, +/- $500, my gift from me to me, ordered for the coupe and convertible.

Thanks

I am glad that you found some. Be aware that any imperfections in the metal will show through the the rubber covers. There are holes in the boards where the original rubber was forced through to lock it to the boards and there are depressions by the mounting braces. These should be filled in along with any other imperfections.

The guy in Canada not only makes the covers, but will vulcanize them to your boards.
