Gauge reads like a 1/4 tank BUT think theres like close to 1/2 tank in there ? Which way do I bend the arm to get it to read more correctly ?? thanks ken ct. (this is a Ford NOT Lincoln) This message was edited by ken ct. on 5-16-18 @ 8:28 AM

I believe if you bend the arm down it will read higher. I would park the car on a level surface, pull the sending unit and measure the gas level first. Be cautious, it won't take much.

hi Ken I think if you take the sending unit out, BESURE to check the float , weight, etc, cork replace with a new one,brass or plastic,modern measure the depth of the tank, take that distance, use a straight edge under the sending unit, like it is the top of tank, bend the wire with so float is just about touching the straight edge, like it is the top of tank you might have to check the stops, if it has any, let it drop down, and measure it dropped, like this is the bottom of gas tank, this should be empty,reading, I hope I answered this ok , I hope you get the idea, my 2 cents 37RAGTOPMAN MAINE
