I'm replacing my vent window seals on my 1940 Ford and at the bottom of the vent window there is a stud that the window pivots on. Can some one tell me the how the spring, cam, washers etc. go in what order. In my defense I didn't take this apart. Thanks for any help or a diagram. Chip Boatright

Hi Chip, The first thing that goes on the stud of the window frame is a stop washer, then a thin washer. Next the spring. Then another washer and finally the castle nut and cotter pin. Mike Kubarth

I have more parts than you mention. I havd a cup washer with a square hole and a small spring that fits inside the cup. Then I have a thick washer with a square hole, another washer that is pare shaped with a square hole, a large spring, thin flat washer and castle nut. I can't figure what order these go in.

The thick pear shaped washer is the top stop washer,the other washer with the square hole is the bottom stop washer, the thin top washer was brass on my car and the 2 bottom washers were steel. I think that cup washer and small spring are for some other part of the car. Here is a picture of the assembly from the parts catalog. Tom
