Hi Mike, I would like your thoughts on using Lowe's Reflectix Insulation in my '40 coupe. Have you every use any of this ? Thank you very much for all your research on 1940 ford, it is very helpful to all of us. Brooks,

Brooks, I have not used that particular insulation. I have little doubt it would insulate but would question whether it would help deaden noise at all.
I have used a somewhat similar product with great results. It is that plastic bubble sheet sandwiched between foil outer layers. It can be purchased at most building supply stores.
It lasts forever, is cheap, easy to install and insulates both from heat and outside noise.

put the Lowes reflex in my 40 wagon and my 41 truck-keeps the heat off the floor in the summer and does deaden the noise level-I glued it in the truck doors, over the headliner, behind the kick panels- behind the firewall insulator and under the seat, rubber mat and behing the seat back--in other words anywhere I could put it without it being obvious and it really works for heat and quiet
