Mike, What is the correct color for opera coupe seat frame? I can't tell what the original was, looks like light brown or may be sand. Thanks very much for your research on the 40 fords. When will your book be out for purchase? Thanks a lots. Brooks

  Hi Brooks,
Just what seat are you speaking of? If you had stated seatS, I'd figure the auxiliary seats, but since you stated seat (singular) I figure you must mean the front seat.
The front seat frame was cadmium plated. The adjusting handle was nickel plated.
By the way, there was no "opera coupe" in 1940. If you have the model with the auxiliary seats, it is termed a "business coupe"
The coupe with the package tray was simply termed a "coupe".
Hope this helps.
Mike

Thanks, Brooks Wilson

Hi Brooks, The metal works of the auxiliary seats was semi-gloss black.
