Topic: 1940 Ford Muffler Clamp Stamping

Does anyone have a drawing of the 1940 Ford Muffler Clamp Strap.

This is the metal strap that mounts under the front of the muffler, which is bolted to the frame and secures the muffler clamp. The clamp is fastened to the strap and both supports the muffler and serves as a collar for the exhaust pipe as it enters the muffler

Thank you

Craig, I can send you photos of an original bracket (need your email address) and if desired I can make a detailed sketch you can work from in case you wanted to reproduce this item.

  Hi Craig,
By now you should have received via direct email pictures of both the top and side views of the bracket as well as a detailed sketch.

Mike, does that clamp stamping go at the front of the muffler as Craig said or at the rear and supports the tail pipe clamp, as the parts catalog shows?

It goes at the rear as you state. I am willing to bet Craig simply made an oversight with his question.
One thing I'd like to mention here is the correct muffler clamp / stand is unlike the ones being offered by the reproduction suppliers. the one they offer is the '41 type (11A).

You are correct. I made a mistake. It does support the rear end of the muffler. Incidentally, I have ordered 50 in accordance with your sketch and will have them by the end of February. Thanks again
