Sorry I am tardy in reply. I overlooked your post...
The hanger pictured in the current manual is NOT correct.
The correct hanger has a rubber insulator.
Carpenter sells one that is close to being correct. Part #99A-5261. As I recall the shaft is too long (compared to original).
As long as we are on the subject, the front clamp & bracket #11A-5259 listed by Carpenter and others as correct for '40 is NOT in fact correct. The correct piece here appears very much like the rear tailpipe hanger.
