Topic: Dash lights brightness adjusting switch

The adjusting switch for the dash lights will no longer work on the brightness. I need to increase brightness, but turning the knob on the switch no longer works. I know I can replace the switch, but before I do that, I was curious as to any easier method . Thanks much

The switch is probably a rheostat design, and it could be dirty in the rotating switch.
Try giving it a cleaning.

The dash lamps, even at their best, are not what I'd call "bright".
I suggest you bypass the rheostat completely. Even a new one will draw some power from the bulbs.
Simply solder a small "jumper" wire between the two terminals or easier yet, connect the two wires (currently connected to the switch) together.

OR replace the two dash lights with LED light bulbs, after cleaning the switch/rehostat with contact cleaner.
