This may sound stupid, but here’s my question. I want to use my hydraulic Jack to jack up the rear tires to check my brake pads. I don’t have a bumper Jack and my hydraulic Jack can’t lift the car high enough when I put the Jack on the frame at the bumper brackets. Can I place the Jack beneath the axel? It doesn’t feel right to do that. Or should I place it beneath the bell in the middle of the axel? Thank you

Never use a bumper jack, and never perform any work under a car supported only by a jack. With a block of wood to take up the slack, use your bottle jack under the differential to lift both wheels off the ground, then put jack stands under each end of the axle housings. Do not attempt the use of any hub removal tool other than a KRW type hub removal tool. Originals are not available, Repops are available but expensive, but luckily, there is a currently available modern version of the KRW type at a fair price.

Thank you for your response Alan. I appreciate your advice on the hub removal tool.
