Topic: Rubber Gasket for Wind Wings for a 1940 Ford?

My wind wing glass has come loose in the driver side wind wing frame.

The old rubber is compressed.

Does anyone know of a source for this material? I think it is just a flat strip of rubber, wrapped around the edge of the glass.

Your wing window was set in the frame with the utilization of glass tape. That is available in different thicknesses. Drake has it listed. Whether or not he has it in stock is another question.
Measure the glass thickness. measure the width of the glass channel.
Subtract the width of the glass from the width of the channel and divide by 2. That's the thickness of the tape required.

As usual, our esteemed 1940 Tech Advisor beat me to the punch on this one. I checked the Club's link for "vendors" - Bob Drake is listed, and his website shows your vent wing rubber seals in stock.

If you come up dry with Bob Drake, use Mike's fine directions and check around for other vendors.

Some of our other Club members may have some recommendations too.

Good luck.
