I know this is a 1940 truck forum but I have a 1941 1/2 ton pickup without any bumpers. Can anybody tell me how to Id the correct size for this truck? There's one for sale, but i need the measurements to see if it will fit.

I do not have the dimensions you desire at hand... sorry.
I can tell you that the front bumper for your truck is identical to all 1940 Ford passenger cars and 1940 1/2T pickup. The rear bumper is much different than the front bumper in that it has much less of a curve than the front bar. Also, the mounting holes are not spaced the same as the front bumper.

The rear bumper bar is quite difficult to locate. Drake made them at one time...you may want to check his stock.

front bar #01A-17757
rear bar #01C-17757

Keep in mind the rear bumper braces are quite different than the passenger cars. I'd seen these made to fit along with a passenger car bumper bar. In mt opinion, they look like sh--.

I have 2 bumpers that i have picked up over the years and as this will never be a show truck, I am thinking of welding on studs to the one's i have and painting them. There is a man on Marketplace who has a set for sale, but the spacing is wrong. I was just trying to find out if they would fit.
