As you can see from the picture, my left brace has a "bend" in it and the right one is straight. In Kube's book there is no mention of one being "not straight". Is mine bent or is it supposed have the bend in it? Pat’s 40 Ragtop

Pech, The bent rod you depict is typical when a person had attempted to remove the engine with the rod attached. For these rods to perform as they were designed, they need to be straight. You may find it a rather easy task to straighten this in a heavy vise. Otherwise, seek a replacement. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
