Topic: Unusual stamped steel 1940 Deluxe grille

A friend of mine just bought a pretty nice unrestored '40 Deluxe Coupe and I happened to notice the unusual grille. The grille center sections are not cast pot metal with chrome plating but stamped sheet metal. Never seen this kind before but would like to know more about it. Was it aftermarket? I'm sure Mike K and Tom O could chime in with their comments but open to any other feedback out there.
Thanks,
Mike in Texas

Mike, These were cheap after-market pieces that were widely available in the late 60's to mid 70's.

commonly referred as an "Argentina" grill, I have a standard version of one of those and have seen your type before and they were made in argentina and offered thru various dealers such as mongomery ward, sears roebuck, honest charlie and the back of hot rod magazine

Thanks guys. I thought the grille must have been aftermarket, but wasn't sure. Appreciate the update to my Early V8 knowledge bank!
