Topic: '40 Ford accessory heater switch knob

Carcheologist    -- 10-13-2021 @ 7:08 AM
Anyone know of a source for the correct heater switch knob for the factory accessory water heater used on '40 Fords? I have a good working correct Ark-Less switch, but the knob is crazed and in poor shape. Appreciate any feedback.

Larry Caplan had some reproduced, he may still have some. He also sells a screw lit and a stripe kit. I don't have his contact information handy. Look in the Roster, he lives in CA.

I don't have a copy of the national roster - would you happen to know which California regional group he's with?

If you enable private messaging, I will look in my Roster and send you his contact information.

Larry's the best! He should be able to solve your heater issue.

I got my correct hot water heater knob from him some years ago for my 40.

It seems like he is really dedicated on fixing classic Ford cars.

I have the switches, NOS, two speed with both heat and defrost; I paid too much for the pair, but will share the pain if you need one

  Jacques1960,
Thanks for your reply. I was able to find a used switch at Hershey, but the knob was in bad shape. I purchased a new reproduction '39 knob from Larry Caplan in California, so I guess I'm in good shape for now. Just in case I change my mind, how much for one?
Kind regards,
Mike in Texas
