First, I must question WHY you would install a recovery tank on a '40 Ford? There is more than adequate room in the top tank of your radiator for any expansion of coolant in the system. If you insist on installing this (unnecessary) part, you'll need to cut the overflow tube and splice in the line to your overflow tank. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Due to the design of the 1939-1940 radiator, a coolant recovery system will not work. The overflow tube is at the top of the radiator and the filler is below that. A coolant recovery system requires the overflow tube to be at the same level as the filler. You would have to change the filler neck , reroute the overflow tube, find a place for the bottle and use a higher pressure cap (at least 7 lbs) to get one with coolant recovery capabilities. You already have quite a bit of space for coolant expansion, and a coolant recovery system is not needed. Tom
