Scored an almost new looking grill guard for the 40 today, except "Ford" not painted.
What is the closet or right color RED for it. One shot striping paint??

  Paul,
The One Shot paint is great stuff as you apparently realize. The Maroon #108L is very close to the authentic color.
The reds you typically see on reproduction parts is not an accurate recreation - not even close as it is to bright "red".
As a side note, did you realize that the Ford script was 'red" regardless of model the guard was installed upon?
If you spot a blue on the concourse - it's wrong.

Thank you, I have seen some other than red and some just the chrome.

Yeah Paul, Sometime in the distant past someone got the idea that the Ford V8 models, when equipped with a grille guard should have the script painted blue. That idea seemed to take hold and as a result, a lot of Ford V8 models (aka standard) showed up like that.
The fact is, they were never offered with a blue script - only red.
