I'm sorry, 40 coupe. Not sure which model the 39 is (for sale on the HAMB). Paul in CT I've seen a few 40's with outside chrome/stainless molding.

I suppose with a lot of work a guy could install a '39 windshield assembly to a 40 body. The cars you have seen are NOT 40 Fords but rather 39's with some 40 sheet metal, etc. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
