What will happen when I remove the black switch plate held by 2 screws on the back side of the switch. Will springs or something come flying out never to be found again ??? Never disassembled that part before. Thanks for any help on this. ken ct.

What I do when I take them out is to first put some black electrical tape strips around the joint to hold the plate and body together until I can remove the two screws and get the unit to my workbench. The only thing that could fall out inside is a movable brush. After cleaning and or replacing, I put it all together with tape again around the joint and only remove the tape when I have the two screws up tight and see that the switch is working ok.
