Topic: "40" distributor removal

I just had my 40 coupe at a cruise night last Saturday night and a guy shows up with a 1939 Mercury convertible. Both cars are original . As we were checking each other's car's out , the conversation of having an extra distributor on board in case it's ever needed came up. He explained to me that he had made a special wrench by bending a long box wrench into an "S'" shape so he can get to the lower distributor bolts. Did Ford ever make such a wrench? Can't you just use a small socket wrench to access the lower distributor bolts? He also showed me that he had installed" 6" volt led bulbs in to his dash board light's and had two long strips of these led light's running the length across his rear bumper which fit nicely into the two groves the rear bumper had. the last foot of these lights on each end were also his blinkers. He explained to me that the led light's used much less volt's to run , and for the dash board bulbs he had to get them from England .

I use a 1/4" drive 1/2" universal socket to remove and install the bolts for the distributor. I have used a combination wrench in the past and it worked very well for all of the bolts except the one that grounds the condenser.
