Can someone please tell me if the 1940 V-8 cars had wood grained garnish molding's ? If so was it the exact as the 1940 deluxe models woodgrain. Thank you , Domenic Domenic

The window moldings were wood grained as you suspected. The grain (and shade) is quite different on the Ford V8 models (aka "standard") than the Deluxe models. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

Mike , can you post some pictures of original wood grained garnish molding's from a 1940 deluxe Ford. They seem to have a nice Maroon tone, and the wood grain that I have seen in the "40" V-8 cars seem to be more in the brown family, Are you going to have some color shots of this in your new book showing the difference? Good Evening, Domenic--- See attached photos of Deluxe wood grain garnish moldings. I hope all of them get to you. If not, just let me know. You can also check out page 3-13 of the current Restoration Manual. The 40 V8 dash (yeah, yeah, I know it is the 40 Standard model - just being politically correct) is "...painted in 1 color - Briarwood Brown, which is a medium to dark nonmetallic brown.
