I see a lot of 1940 standard ford cars with a chromed standard grill, was this ever an option? What about chromed head lite bevels? Also don't forget to buy only made in U.S.A. products. Domenic

Good Afternoon, Domenic--- To my knowledge, Ford V8 Models (dealers never used the term "40 Standard") are supposed to only have painted grilles and headlight doors. After all, these models were the "base", lower-priced models, and were not supposed to be as fancy as a Ford Deluxe model, which were properly equipped with chromed grille and headlight doors. Hey Mike - do you agree with me? Happy New Year to all my fellow V8 Club members. Tom

Domenic, Tom nailed this one precisely. What you have observed was a very common "customization" of the Ford V8 models. Simple to install a chrome plated grille and even easier to install chrome plated headlamp bezels. Nope, Tom has this one 100% correct. Mike "Kube" Kubarth
