Should the crossover exhaust pipe be put on before engine placement ? I need to get my anti chatter rods in place yet and am thinking that I need to loosen the engine mounts so the rods fall into place. I know that it will be a small amount of movement but I hope that the pipe will clear the ittle plate comming off of the frame crossmember. It was a lot easier to build my street rod from an old junk car than to get this Ford on the road again.

You may be able top get the engine in with the pipe attached. However, I have found it to be quite easy to install the pipe after engine installation. I tend to leave both the crossover and exhaust pipes semi loose until I have them aligned to one another. Then, and only then, do I secure them.
