A occasional but reoccuring slight stumble under normal acceleration on my 46 ....most pronounced when the engine is not yet up to operating temp. My fuel pressure regulator is set at 2 ...thinking of increasing it to 2 1/2 under the premise that engine might be slightly starved for fuel. Otherwise starts easily and idles smooth - hot or cold. Suggestions please.

2 lbs is plenty. You might check the color of your spark plugs. Do this after running at highway speed for a while with an immediate shut down while at high RPMs. This will give you an accurate color on the plugs. An occasional stumble won't affect the color. A difference in color on one plug can also be a clue. You may also have a weak coil or condenser. Acceleration can blow out a weak spark under the higher compression.

A lean mixture can also cause this problem. Try adjusting the accelerator pump throw on the carb to give you a little more fuel on initial acceleration. There are three holes the linkage connects to and is an easy adjustment and starting point for trouble shooting.

The markings on the pressure regulator are for reference to position only and not to pressure. Put a gauge on the Carb inlet and adjust the regulator to 2 to 2 1/4#
