Thanks for your response. That's what I thought also. I will do it that way. I just don't want it to leak, hate leaks!! Thanks again.

In my experience I have always installed the wiper and then placed the seal on the outside of the roof, then the bezel or washer and lastly the retainer nut. To my knowledge all roof mounted wipers are installed in this manner.

I have a '36 Ford fordor Touring sedan deluxe. I am having trouble understanding how the NEW repo rubber seals are installed. When I took them off (tandem wipers)it appeared they had been reinstalled by others more then once. Does the grommet or rubber seal go onto the motor shaft and then through the top hole or what??? I looked in the '35-'36 book I bought for the club, but it does not show this installation. HELP!! It is driving me nuts(short putt). Thanks to all. Pictures are worth a thousand words if available.
