this spring I plan to work on the windshield crankout regulator. I am looking for any direction/suggestion on how to attack this project. I got the dash crank knob to wind it out enough to see it appears solid with some rust. I takes some effort to get it to move, and don't want to break anything. Rob

crawl under the dash and start soaking every thing with your choice of pentrant-as is loosens work the know back and then out-helps to get the mechanism moving

Also apply some to the hinges up under the inspection covers in the header. If you are planning on removing the windshield frame -- mark the brackets before removal as it will otherwise be trial and error to get it to fit correctly when putting back. Trust me, I know. Fitting the crank out mechanism is easy, aligning the hinges is not.
