I am rebuilding a 40 pick up, missing the vacuum wiper motor, plan on replacing with a mighty wiper electric , single...how did the original mount under the cowl, I do not see any bracket. Has anyone used the "mighty Wiper" and how long go a shaft should I order

Gary, the original motor mounts to the underside of the cowl and is held in place by a nut and bezel that screws down onto the wiper motor shaft from the top of the cowl - there is no bracket. I am not familiar with the Mighty Wiper. Also, the wiper motors for the 40 and 41 pickups are unique (probably also fit up through 47) - they are not the same as for a car. Ted

If you decide to use the Mighty Wiper just measure the length of the shaft on the stock wiper and that will get you close to what you need for the Mighty Wiper. Why not rebuild the original vacuum wiper? The original wiper along with some Rain X will work just fine. You won't drive that often in the rain.
