What is the correct fuel pump for a 1940 Ford 85 h.p.? Is it an AC pump and if so what is the AC number. For example: is it a AC 541 or AC 591? As always thank you for your help.

I have attached a photo of the pump you are seeking. Note the cover has NO tabs - it is smooth around its entire edge. Also note the inlet and outlet are offset by about 1/4". If you are in the market to purchase one of these, I'd suggest CharlieNY. Great guy, fair prices and great service. He takes the time to test his pumps so you can be assured you will get a good one each & every time. Mike "Kube" Kubarth

It is a drain petcock. It drains the sediment bowl.

If you look at later pumps, they do retain the boss for the petcock.
