I am sure this discussion has come up before. But as a new member I don't know the answer. So please enlighten
me. First of all I have heard the color Dove Grey, French
Grey, but they are Model A colors. As far as I know the
correct color name is Seagull grey (gray) either. Please put me in touch with the person in the know. I would like to know the paint color name and formula number for an original 1932 grille insert.
Lacquer and non-lacquer. Thanks Jeff Peters

Thanks again....

The correct color is Sea Gull Gray. The original M (material) numbers were M-952 for lacquer, M-1283 for enamel, and M-1288 for baking enamel. Autocolorlibrary.com may have the modern formulas for the color (the original formulas are basically useless with the changes in paint composition over time and changes in tints). They may also be able to supply the paint. We've switched to single stage urethane and an excellent color match is PPG DCC 586.
