Topic: Meet Judging Question

I have a 1933 Deluxe Fordor that I have registered for the 2015 Eastern National Meet. The car, to the best of my knowledge, is 100% correct other than one addition that I have made. The car, again to the best of my knowledge, came originally with a fuel gauge and an amp gauge, which it has. I drive the car so I wanted water temp and oil pressure information. To that end I added an aftermarket temperature and an aftermarket oil pressure gauge contained in a dual mount. My question is: When the car is judged, will points be deducted because I have added these gauges, even though they could not have been included with the original car and only could have been added as aftermarket? Thanks in advance for your response.

Tom, If you wish to have your car point judged, the answer is yes, your aftermarket gages will draw a deduction. Rather than tell you how much it will cost, I'll direct you to the judging form for your car, from which you may pre-judge your own car while preparing for the Concourse:

Tom, I would not worry about point deductions before your car is judged.

First reason is that you want the extra gauges and will probably leave them on as an added accessory.

Second reason is that the judges will be fair in their point deductions. They want you to bring your car back.

Third and most important is that you like your car and it really won't affect how you feel about it if you don't get the trophy that you wanted.

I am sure that you can think of more reasons to not worry about point deductions. I entered my cars on the Concourse just to have them judged. I did not worry about which trophy it would be awarded, because my cars are my trophies.

One of my cars is a Dearborn Emeritus and the other is a Rouge certified car. I enjoy bringing them to the National Meets where they are appreciated.

An AUTHORIZED accessory was the dual temp/gas gauge for 1933-34. They are available on ebay from time to time. Might solve your point deduction issues.
