Topic: My plan

Before trying to start my '32 Fordor with a '36 motor, I want to drop the pan and clean it out, check the oil pump and see if it's really an LB (haven't found any letters stamped on the block under the intake manifold).

Can some of you chime in on the easiest way to do this? I've read up on the procedure but thought I'd check here before getting out (too cold here in NH right now anyway) and getting under.

Many thanks for any and all advice.

I would not worry about point deductions before your car is judged.

The letters would NOT be under the intake/ their along side of it near the front of motor, look again, as someone said not all have it.And some were forged on there to get more $$ for the block. Measure the mains when you take the pan off (not easy either). ken ct.
