Gentlemen: Attached is a picture of a 1935-36 , 2 speed automatic transmission. Any information would be a great help. Thanks

Wow!! That's quite a rig!! Looks like a starter-motor driven planetary of some sort on the front of the crankshaft - for an unknown reason. I don't understand the manifold arrangement on the top of the engine. Can't see the tranny because of the angle of the picture. Could it be a marine engine configuration of some sort? I'm surprised you haven't gotten some feedback from the experts on this site!!!

Looks like a regular transmission on the back of the motor. The crank driven unit on the front looks like it may be part of a V-drive for a boat. I seriously question that it is an automatic transmission for a car.

The cooling manifolds also look like they are from a boat. Bruce nelson pegged it as a marine configuration in the original post of the photo. It also looks like it is a 1940 60HP engine. Tom
