Topic: Lube for '36 distributor?

What lubricant should I be putting into the small oiling hole at the top of a stock 1936 V8 distributor?

How much?

How often?

I use a good weight oil.
I oil once in the spring and then before every long trip.
One or two drops is all you need.

I use 3 in One SAE 20 for Electric Motors. It comes in the small plastic container (3 oz.) as does the other weight. Available most anywhere. I lube mine the same as nelsb

  Thanks very much, gentlemen.

Sounds like that 3 oz container should fit nicely into a rumble seat toolbox.

The 3 in 1 oil is a little too light for the oilite bushings. Ford recommended engine oil. I use 30w and lube it and the generator once a month during driving season.

Engine oil, not 3 in 1.

  Okay. Thank you.
