My '36 has a factory radio but there is a lot of interference when turned on and cannot hear much. I know that there are condensers, none currently installed, that could minimize this but don't know where to purchase them. Any suggestions?

Make sure that your radio and the antenna lead shield both have a good ground. Make sure that the antenna signal wire is also making good contact. You might want to try mounting a temporary antenna to determine if it is the antenna. If you still have a lot of noise on the radio after that, you may have to have the radio serviced. The condensers help with noise on weak stations, but it sound to me that you are having the problem on all stations. Tom

I've never seen a condenser do much good. My experience has been that interference is caused by a poor ground at the base of the antenna. Richard

The Early Ford Club book1935-36 page 118, shows positions of capacitors for radio noise suppression. They suggest about 6 different locations plus spark plug suppressors. Metalized suppressors are available from Justradios.com in Canada. I think 0.45 uf (MFD) caps would work. Maybe somebody with more radio knowledge will correct me on the size. I think spark plug suppressors are available from NADA and other auto parts stores. ( I have a set of 8 spark plug suppressors available for $24 incl USPS.)
