They will not be found because they do not exist.
The serial number was originally stamped in to transmission case. Then, when the transmission was fitted to the engine, a tag, with that number was wired to the engine / transmission assembly. When that entire assembly was fitted to a chassis, the number was subsequently stamped in to the frame in three separate places.

You can not go by the transmission number unless it matches the numbers stamped on the frame. One of the three sets of frame numbers is on the top of the frame rail just above the steering box. It starts with a star and ends with another star.

Just to add to what the other guys have said. The engine numbers were sequential from engine number *18-1* in 1932. When the engine was installed in a frame the number was transferred to the top of the left frame rail somewhere between the radiator and the firewall. Mine is next to the front crossmember. When looking for the number be very careful how aggressive you are about removing the crud, paint, rust on the frame so you don't obliterate the number. It may be very faint. Your number will start with *18- and end with a star. If you are lucky your transmission has never been replaced and you will find the number on the top of the transmission housing just above the small inspection door.
