Does the hand brake cable route over the top of torque tube or underneath? application: '36 1/2 ton PU running later model ('39-'48) rear axle assembly with aftermarket Lincoln "Bendix" style brakes/drums. Thnx.

I would route it under the torque tube as it was routed in the 39-48 rear end. There should be a support on the bottom of the torque tube for the cable.

My '40 has it routed under, running (after the bracket at the torque tube) through grommets held in place by emergency brake cable brackets (part # 91A-2272) that are scr*w*d into pre-drilled holes in both rear radius rods. I imagine other years had variations on this, but I can't speak to that. Hope this helps.
